This 1986 Ford Bronco U-150 is a rare, factory-ordered 4-wheel drive SUV, originally sold through Jim Nelson Ford in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, as a special factory order from DSO #53 (District Sales Office) on June 24, 1985. It was built at Ford’s Michigan Truck Plant on February 11, 1986, and is one of only 756 Broncos produced in 9M Colonial White with the rare, one-year-only 7B Dark Shadow Blue Metallic. It also features a Dark Shadow Blue removable fiberglass roof, which has never been removed.
Ordered with the XLT package, this Bronco is powered by a 5.0L V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and a dual-range transfer case. It was originally equipped with automatic locking hubs, which have since been upgraded to manual locking hubs. Built on a 105-inch wheelbase, it includes the optional U152 6,000-lb. GVW package. Additional factory options include a tachometer, skid plates, spare tire carrier, handling package, speed control with a tilt wheel, air conditioning, power locks, and power windows. The truck also features an optional chrome rear step bumper and privacy glass with custom edging on the rear windows.
Upgrades include new power window regulators, 33x12.5 B.F. Goodrich All-Terrain tires mounted on 15x10 Pro Comp wheels, and a Rancho suspension lift. The Bronco was brought to San Diego in 1989 before being relocated to Silver Springs, Nevada, where it remained with the same family for 31 years. It was stored for 12 years, from 2008 to 2020, until it was acquired by a Nevada dealer in Lake Tahoe. In 2000, the dealer’s shop refinished the truck with a base coat/clear coat respray in its original Colonial White over Dark Shadow Blue.
