This 2018 BMW M2, finished in Mineral Grey Metallic over Black Dakota Leather with blue stitching, was originally delivered to BMW of North America as a Pre-Production Upfit Company car. Shipped from Leipzig, Germany, it was assigned to a BMW executive at the company's Woodcliff Lake, NJ headquarters.
Powering the M2 is a turbocharged N55B30T0 3.0-liter M TwinPower inline-6, featuring Double-VANOS, Valvetronic variable valve control, and high-precision direct injection, producing 365 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 343 lb-ft of torque between 1,450 and 4,750 rpm, with an overboost function temporarily increasing torque to 369 lb-ft. Power is sent to the rear wheels through the optional 7-speed M-DCT dual-clutch transmission, working in tandem with an Active M Limited-Slip Differential and an M-tuned exhaust with quad tailpipes. The car was also optioned with the M Driver’s Package, raising the top speed from 155 mph to 177 mph.
Handling and braking are equally impressive, with M Compound 4-wheel ventilated ABS brakes, featuring Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), along with brake fade compensation, start-off assist, brake drying, and brake standby functions. The M2 rides on 19” Style 437M alloy wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, while M-logo calipers clamp onto cross-drilled rotors for enhanced stopping power. The M-specific sport suspension further refines handling dynamics.
Compared to the standard F22 2-Series, this M2 showcases a more aggressive stance with flared wheel arches, a carbon fiber trunk lid spoiler, and aerodynamic front and rear bumper covers. Additional exterior enhancements include Shadowline exterior trim, an M rear spoiler, and a kidney grille with black twin slats and M2 designation.
Inside, the cabin is appointed with Black Dakota Leather with blue stitching, accented by carbon-fiber trim on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. The heated, 14-way power-adjustable sport seats offer 4-way lumbar support and memory settings, while M Performance pedals add a sporty touch. Advanced technology and comfort features include ambient lighting, Comfort Access, an iDrive infotainment system, a navigation system, Apple CarPlay, a Harman Kardon sound system, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, Active Driving Assistant, and Adaptive LED headlights. The heated leather-wrapped multifunction M Sport steering wheel frames a 180-mph speedometer, a 7,500-rpm tachometer, and a fuel-level gauge, while the digital odometer currently displays 25,360 miles.
